The Landing School Launches New Additions to Their Learning Resource Center

The Landing School, a post-secondary institution focused on educating tomorrow's marine industry professionals, is pleased to announce the update of their Learning Resource Center. Thanks to a generous donation, the S/V Patience Learning Resource Center has enjoyed many improvements including new computers and a new design for the space. In addition, the S/V Patience Learning Resource Center is celebrating the following:
The first Landing School Online Library Catalog. LibraryWorld is our vendor and we have over 1,100 books.
The first Landing School Library Guides. LibGuides allows us to harness the excellent online resources that support The Landing School's programs of study: Wooden Boat, Cruising Boats, Marine Systems, Composites, and Yacht Design.
The first aggregator (EBSCO) print periodical account providing a modest, but robust nautical and marine industry selection of periodicals.
The first invitation for an in-class information literacy presentation.
The first Lunch in the library where we invited all students, staff, and faculty to lunch and introduced The Landing School's new subscription to
The first Acorn Skiff with mast, oars, and rudder in the library space.
"These new resources will no doubt help our students meet the demands of their chosen program," said Barbara Bolko, Learning Resource Center Supervisor. "The students are really enjoying the space and with access to online resources, they can do research from home, on the road or here in the library. It's a great step for the school and we're very proud of our efforts to continually improve the services we offer our students."
